Soil Landscape Polygon Identifier

This polygon identifier is used to link the digital map data to attribute data in soil landscape files and other associated files. This number is not necessarily unique within the country. This identifier contains two parts:

• the first two digits identify the map sheet, and
• the remaining four digits identify the number assigned to each soil landscape polygon of the map sheet.

The map sheet codes, NSDB-IDs, and names are:

• 10 = NFC001 = Newfoundland
• 11 = PEC001 = Prince Edward Island
• 12 = NSC001 = Nova Scotia
• 13 = NBC001 = New Brunswick
• 14 = NFC002 = Labrador
• 24 = PQC001 = Quebec southwest
• 25 = PQC002 = Quebec southeast
• 26 = PQC003 = Quebec central
• 27 = PQC004 = Quebec north
• 28 = PQC005 = Quebec Iles de la Madeleine
• 35 = ONC001 = Ontario south
• 36 = ONC002 = Ontario north
• 46 = MBC001 = Manitoba
• 47 = SKC001 = Saskatchewan
• 48 = ABC001 = Alberta
• 58 = BCC002 = British Columbia north
• 59 = BCC001 = British Columbia south
• 60 = YTC001 = Yukon
• 61 = NTC001 = NWT - Mackenzie
• 62 = NTC002 = NWT - Great Slave
• 63 = NTC003 = NWT - Keewtin
• 64 = NTC004 = NWT - Baffin south
