Component Table Mapper

Installation Instructions

  1. OBTAIN THE EXTENSION

  2. PLACE THE EXTENSION WHERE ARCVIEW CAN ACCESS IT

    • WIN95: Save the ct_map_1_3.avx file into the C:\Esri\Av_gis30\Arcview\Ext32 directory
    • UNIX: Save the ct_map_1_3.avx file into the directory pointed to by the USEREXT environment variable. If not specifically set, USEREXT defaults to $HOME. You can set USEREXT by adding to ArcView's startup file ($AVHOME/etc/startup) the following line: av.SetEnvVar("USEREXT","<whatever path>")
    For more information, see "AVEXT" in ARCVIEW Help.

  3. LOAD/UNLOAD THE EXTENSION

     With the Project window active, bring up the Extension dialog box by selecting the menu items:

     File -> Extensions...

     Place a check in the box next to Component Table and select OK. This will load the new buttons ( and ) into the Table GUI, and embed all the required scripts. Removing the checkmark will unload the buttons and scripts.

Extension Persistence

The loaded extension is saved with the project.

 Loading and unloading the extension will be reflected in any other projects being opened during the same ArcView session. That is, if you have saved a project with the loaded extension, the next time you open a project in the same session it will be available, and vice-versa.

 If you wish the extension to always remain available, select Make Default in the Extension dialog box. Thereafter, every time ArcView opens, the customized button and scripts will be available in projects.
