Canadian System of Soil Classification

Canada uses the Canadian System of Soil Classification to describe its soils. Three versions of this manual have been published.

• The first edition was published in 1978.
• The second edition was published in 1987.
• The third edition was prepared in 1998, and is currently being used in Canadian soil databases.
