Detailed and Very-Detailed Soil Survey Reports

Detailed (1:63,360-1:50,000 scale) and very-detailed (1:20,000 scale) soil survey reports contain comprehensive soil resource information. Many of the reports enhance, update, and expand on information contained in older reconnaissance reports.

Reconnaissance Soil Surveys

These soil reports and maps are of a reconnaissance nature. They are suitable for obtaining a general overview of the location and extent of major soil types.

Special Reports

This group of reports include very-detailed (1:5,000 scale) soil surveys of Federal agricultural research areas and very small scale, generalized reports covering the entire province.

Archival Soil Survey Reports (1943 - 1950)

These reconnaissance soil reports and maps represent the earliest soil surveys undertaken in Nova Scotia and have since been superseded by newer semi-detailed (1:50,000-1:63,360 scale) or detailed soil surveys (1:20,000 scale).
